They aren’t just along for the ride – They are a major reason FOR it.  Taking a break from social media helped me realize the people in my life who deserved more of my attention and my kids were at the top of the list.

I write about chronic illness and have begun to discuss my divorce, but I wondered, what did they have to say about it?  How did THEY feel?  I could write for hours about what I THOUGHT they had experienced, but why not just… ask them?

SO – this episode is two of my three children discussing the past five years.  It hasn’t been an easy five years for my family, but I could not be more proud of these humans for how beautifully they have progressed through it.  I’m just so incredibly lucky to be their mom.

This episode provides a glimpse into chronic illness from the perspective of a child – the confusion of doctor’s appointments and their parent suddenly just being different and gone.  It also gives a behind the scenes in the emotional toll of divorce: what’s been hard – what’s starting to feel normal, and advice for other kids on how to get through.

Honestly – this is my favorite episode on the podcast so far.  And whether you are an adult or a kid wanting to know more about what it’s like to go through these tough things, I think you will find it helpful.
