Living Well After Acute Myeloid Leukemia, with Adrian Lemberger: Part 2 | 

Adrian is a rockstar – and not just because he is a talented musician, but because he has experienced just about the most difficult challenge one can face in life, and he survived.  So many don’t.  

My friend Alicia, interviewed on this podcast (you can listen here), did not survive, and she hated when people said that it was a “fight against cancer”, because, this ultimately implies some win and some lose.  Alicia did not lose.  

Adrian has not lost or won.  Anyone who faces cancer, I have found, offers us insight on life which we simply overlook when life is comfortable.  The act of breathing, moving, hugging, loving – these become beautiful, treasured things, and this is why I interviewed my friend Adrian.  There is always hope when facing something as difficult as cancer, but what I believe he, and others I have interviewed on this journey have taught me, is that we win or lose in every moment.  We win the moments we embrace.  We lose in the moments we let pass by.
